This is one of nine dimensions in the OpsCorp method. The Planning Readiness Scorecard assesses your program across all nine in under ten minutes.
What It Is
The Close Package is everything your team needs to run the program without us: the documentation, the decision history, the open items, and the capability transfer that ensures the program doesn’t lose momentum the day the engagement ends.
Why It Matters
A good engagement is measured by what the organization can sustain after we leave. We design the Close Package from day one (not scramble it together in the last week) to transfer documents along with the knowledge and judgment behind them.
What’s Inside
- Decision Log: The complete record of every significant decision made during the engagement: what was decided, why, what was considered, and who was in the room
- Capability Transfer: Documents what the team learned to do during the engagement and what still needs development
- Open Items: Every unresolved question, pending decision, and known risk that the team needs to manage after handoff
- Operating System Handoff: Transfers ownership of the operating rhythm, tools, and processes built during the engagement
- Post-Engagement Success Criteria: Defines what success looks like 30, 60, and 90 days after the engagement ends
- The Narrative: A plain-language summary of what happened, what was accomplished, and what comes next, written for leaders who weren’t in every meeting
