What It Is
Principles & Guardrails establishes the decision-making principles and hard boundaries that prevent scope creep, misalignment, and the slow drift that turns a focused program into an undefined initiative. Principles guide trade-offs; guardrails define what’s non-negotiable.
Why It Matters
Without explicit principles, every trade-off decision gets escalated. Without guardrails, scope creeps one “small exception” at a time until the program is unrecognizable. This artifact gives the team a framework for making consistent decisions without needing to check with leadership every time.
